    You can submit applications to programs in MyERAS.

    NRMP registration opens

    Applying through ERAS does not enter you in the Match. Registering with the NRMP is a separate step.

    Programs start reviewing applications

    Programs can download applications and begin sending interview invitations in waves.

  4. October 2026 to January 2027 (passed)

    Interview season

    Most interview invitations go out between October and January; many programs keep inviting into December.

    Rank order list entry opens

    Enter and certify your rank order list in the NRMP R3 system. You can change and re-certify it until the deadline.

    SOAP begins

    The list of unfilled programs opens for eligible unmatched and partially matched applicants. Check the NRMP calendar for when applications open.

    SOAP round 1 offers

    Accept by 11 a.m. ET. Further rounds follow at 12 p.m., 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. ET, each with a two-hour window to accept.

    SOAP round 4 offers

    The last round. Accept by 8 p.m. ET. An accepted SOAP offer is binding.

Plan around the dates

  • Register for the NRMP early. Waiting until January only adds risk.
  • If you need the H-1B, plan Step 3 so the result is out before programs finalize their rank lists.
  • Prepare a SOAP plan in February, even if it feels unnecessary.

When is Match Day 2027?

Friday, March 19, 2027, at 12 p.m. Eastern Time. You learn whether you matched on Monday, March 15, at 10 a.m. ET.

When is the rank order list deadline for the 2027 Match?

Wednesday, March 3, 2027, at 9 p.m. Eastern Time. Ranking opens on February 1 at 12 p.m. ET.

When does SOAP happen in 2027?

SOAP starts on Monday, March 15, at 11 a.m. ET, and offers go out in four rounds on Thursday, March 18, at 9 a.m., 12 p.m., 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. ET.

Do emergency medicine and OB/GYN use the same dates?

They apply through ResidencyCAS instead of ERAS, but they take part in the same NRMP Main Residency Match, so ranking, Match Week and Match Day dates are the same.
